22...21...20...

Hey guys!!

I thought I'd post a short blog with this picture just to say... these were my feels about turning 20 😬 AND  they're my feels about going to Guatemala in < 20 days (14 to be exact) and my team meeting me there in exactly 20 days!! I have a few things to say:

To my team: wow oh wow I am so excited to share this experience with y'all. The next time I see most of you we will be on Guatemalan soil!!  T W E N T Y  D A Y S!!!!! can you believe it? I want to encourage us all to pray intentionally and earnestly for ourselves and our mission down there. Pray that the Lord will soften the hearts of the teens in Guatemala we will be reaching and that He will open doors for them to be able to get there.

To my support system in the States: I have been fighting a spiritual and mental battle lately and have hit some bumps in the road. This truly is an experience I want to have an open mind and heart for, but most importantly I want to have a clear mind for it. I would really appreciate it if you could come alongside me in praying for strength and guidance. As I head down there by myself on June 24th. I am very psyched to be broadening my Spanish speaking skills with this opportunity at the Christian Spanish School, but I am also worried. I will be down there alone, staying in a city that I have only been to once before except this time I will be staying with a host home there and navigating it by myself. Please pray that I find peace in all I do and that I find a connection with someone there or I find peace and connection with Jesus Christ. I do not know what the first half of my time in Guatemala will look like entirely, but I know the Lord will be with me. ( I am saying this half to remind myself. ) I have been in a season where I am in need of encouragement something fierce. Help me pray that I find that and that I find it in a healthy place. Pray that I am used for the plan God has for me and that He guides my footsteps. Also YOU GUYS ARE THE FREAKING BOMB!!! I'm sure you already know that, but I am saying it because thanks to y'all I am FULLY FUNDED. I have no words. I am in awe of the support y'all show me every time. The Lord truly pulls through and shows me that I am meant to be on this trip every time. It is seriously such a blessing.

To Myself:  Remember these things you ask of your people. Use these things to drive your prayer time. Pray for yourself and for the people of Guatemala. It is important for you to continue mastering these prayers over yourself and your trip and not mistake a post like this as your mastery of it. Most of all seek God and thank those who have blessed you.

Quick note: I have gotten some questions lately about how the volcanic eruption in Guatemala is going to affect my travels. Short answer: it won't! The volcano erupted about 45 minutes away from Guatemala city, where my team will be helping. A lot of the pictures I have seen shared from various places "of the eruption in Guatemala" are actually from Hawaii. The eruption there was quite localized and the only people affected by the lava are people who live right by it. The other parts of the country have experienced some ash fall. Please pray for the families of those injured or killed by the eruption and for the continued safety of the country. There is a team in Guatemala with Identify (the missions organization I will be going with) right now. They experienced very few effects of the eruption and will be able to fly back on their scheduled flight. All is looking good. The main concern for the people we will be working with is the safety of the teens there. They need strength to not join the life of drugs and gangs. please pray with me for their: safety, strength, and deliverance from those temptations.

You guys absolutely rock!!! I love you guys, Thank you for blessing me over and over again.  As usual please please please feel free to reach out to me about any of this!
I am here for you.
Ardently rooting for you.
And thankful for you rooting for me.
I love you deeply (seriously)

A Fashion Renovation

Girls, has this ever happened to you? You’re headed somewhere, say to the mall and you do not want to carry a purse or wallet. “No problem,” you think, “I can just put it in my pockets.” You’re wearing jeans so there should be plenty of space to put stuff in your pockets, right? Wrong . You try and you try to fit things in your pockets, but they’re just too small. You can’t fit anything in there except a few dollars and some change. Your phone kind of fits in your back pocket. So, you end up frustrated and flustered and you begrudgingly carry a purse to the mall. Never again will this be a problem! I have the solution. I am introducing to you: Pocket Pants (patent pending). Pocket Pants are a new kind of jeans for women. Pocket Pants are a jean that has pockets big enough to carry your stuff and they’re fashionable. No longer do you have to suffer through awkward bulky purses. Go hands-free! Order your pair online today! They come in ...

Freshman Fifteen

As some of you may know last year (as in my Freshman year of college) I was sick a lot and there were a lot of other stressors happening in my life. In the chaos of it all I was struggling to find time in my schedule to eat. I did not see the big deal and I almost did not even realize it. At one point someone asked me what I had eaten and I honestly could not tell them the last thing I had eaten. At that point I was lucky enough to have friends around to help me remember to eat. This sounds terrible and like I was doing this to myself and to an extent I was and to an extent I wasn’t. My freshman year of college I had the Freshman Fifteen, I had just lost the weight instead of gained it. This was not due to my own choice, nor my own desire. I was on the go: from hospital visits (9 times), to 3 different doctors, classes, homework, family, friends at college, friends at home, Wesley a campus ministry I am a part of, trying to find a home church in Kennesaw, moving 3 times, t...
